Have a plan? Here’s a Quick Wellness Guide

I promise you in 10 years you will realize just how young and capable you were today.

Set bold new parameters for success. Don’t chase old successes, there’s no pride in that. By all means you are someone’s hero already. Choose something new and reignite your fire!

Please set yourself up powerfully to win. Here are some rules of engagement for making new goals.

1. Avoid setting an arbitrary time limit or deadline. Be realistic. Ambitious deadlines may, at first, serve as a motivation but it will quickly morph into a foe. You will either rebel against your deadline, re-negotiate the terms or meet your deadline than resort to your old behaviors as a reward.

2. For body transformation resolutions, create a metric to measure results. Take body measurements of specific sites (arms, chest, waist, thighs, etc) and gage your progress by how many inches you lose or perhaps mass you gain. If you make your goals “pound per pound” centric, you will find yourself slave to a scale. Muscle weighs more than fat.  It is conceivable that you can maintain your present weight and shrink in size.  You will be a smaller tighter bundle of muscle with less body fat.

3. Take out your calendar and pick at least 3 days a week where you can schedule time for yourself to move. Choose a structured activity, show up and go. Don’t be too ambitious. Gradually, increase the time and effort as you gain confidence.

This plan is a Quick Start guide. As you progress, you will find the path that calls you. It’s like the Wizard of Oz, you will go on the journey, collect friends along the way and realize ultimately you had the power within you all along.
