K Cooking Tip: Make Your Own Online Cookbook
My kitchen isn’t very large but even if it were following a cookbook recipe can get messy. You need a book stand. There are ingredients everywhere. You have to wash your hands every time you turn a page. You may have to wear your reading glasses as you cannot enlarge the text. Simplify. Keep your cookbooks clean and make the process easier. I have a solution!
- Download a scanner app on your iPhone, iPad, Tablet or Android device.
- Open up an account on Evernote, Google Docs, Dropbox, BOX or any cloud service of your choice. Create a RECIPES folder.
- Take a clear photo of your recipes. Use the portable electronic with the best camera. NAME and TAG each photo so they are easily referenced. I tag by ingredients, food category, type, etc.. You can also create subcategories like desserts, appetizers, holidays, etc. You also have an extra option of taking screenshots or saving recipes you read online.
- Open your cloud app and add the photos to your new RECIPE folder. With your scanned recipes, photos in the cloud, you now your cookbook have gone cyber. Every device you own has access to your favorite foods and these directions may be easily shared.
Lagniappe: If you don’t have a screen cover for the iPad or iPhone screen, use saran wrap to keep it clean, unwrap when done.
